Hey, i checked the tuning guides with the stage 1. And it said that automatics AWD has a smaller turbo. In that case i was wondering if theres a bigger turbo that bolts on? Ive checked through the search section, but i didnt get the answer to this. And i checked the section where they discuss bout the parts but no successs. And if theres a bigger turbo, will have to buy new fuel injectors?

Yes the autos have a 13b. The 5 spd has a bigger 14b from the factory. There sooooo many turbos you can bolt up you just can't list them all. A 16g or big 16g is a very good choice. They're relatively cheap and have potential for a lot of power. Your exhaust manifold will bolt up but due to the tiny outlet it's no good. The best (cheapest) upgrade is a 2g exhaust manifold, bolts right up and has a much larger outlet and much better flowing design. You can find them pretty cheap (I have one I'll sell you if you want). You will also have to change your oil supply line because the banjo bolt to the turbo is smaller on yours and won't fit. A stock 1g 5 spd supply line will do just fine. Other than that you're good to go. As long as you don't mess with the boost level your injectors are fine.

So to put it short, for a turbo setup with a lot of potential here's what you need

16g or big 16g
1g 5 spd turbo oil supply line and banjo bolts (don't forget new crush washers)
2g exhaust manifold.

Good luck.:thumb:

Thanks JFatch1890. It's been about 10 years since I did the 13b to 16g swap. I thought the water lines matched up but I guess I forgot. You can get the coolant lines waaaay cheaper at extremepsi.com

be sure to get all the gaskets you need
water supply and return line crush washers
oil supply line crush washers (turbo and engine side)
oil return gaskets (turbo and pan side)
exhaust manifold gasket
manifold to turbo gasket
turbo to 02 sensor housing gasket
and compressor outlet gasket

It would also be a good idea to upgrade to a 2g 02 housing. Not necessary but they flow better.

WTFWhat the hell? Where'd you go JFatch?
Oh well. Maybe he realized the water lines do fit and took his post down. Test the water lines to see if they fit before you go spending a lot of money on new ones because I seem to remember them fitting.

Nah they didn't fit,I checked like 4 times just to make sure before i spent that much on them lines,If someone did spend that money and they found out they did fit!!:)beatentodeath:)

It is 13g, not 13b.

I wouldn't do the 16g jump. The 14b can be had for much less money in good shape. And has plenty of flow good for 300whp, even a little more. It canpush a set of 550s to the limit with other supporting mods neccesary for a 16g turbo. You have a slushbox, so you're going to appreciate the faster spool anyway. The stock 1g 5speed exhaust manifold is the perfect fit for the turbine inlet because that's where the 14b went. The 2g manifold doesn't flow better. The ports are the same shape and volume. There is just a larger inlet at the collector. The 2g manifold is still too small of an opening for a 16g turbine inlet. And to get a smooth transition you'll need to port.

Having more volume in the collector actually slows down exhaust pulse velocity. Something you don't want for a turbo and ESPECIALLY if you have an automatic. The stock 1g 5speed manifolds go for cheap all day long, because guys want the 2g manifold. It will be hard to find one that isn't cracked. And they are prone to cracking. But it won't be a downgrade to the current manifold on your car. If you get this setup, don't forget to buy a 14b sealing ring. This makes a perfect transtion and saves your turbo/manifold gasket. Yes, you will need the 14b/16g waterlines and bolts. And you will need the 14b/16g oil feed line, but not the bolts. This is because you have the proper size bolt that goes into the head for the oil feed and your 13g water line bolts are the correct size for the 14b/16g oil feed on the turbo side.
