what would be a good downpipe

i have a 99 gsx i've been running the car with just a cat back it has the stock downpipe and nothing in between the two there is a big gap and my car sounds like is drowning

i have a hks ti carbon fiber catback what would be a good downpipe that requires little work to install or a downpipe test pipe combo to go with the hks

i would like something good i love this car even tho is sucking the life out of me right now. and what would be a good way to start putting some horses on my car i want to get it to about 300-400 thats my goal 82nd all the way thanks

BY THE WAY. I was running like that before too, it causes a lot of problems and most of the problems will go away once you fix it.
I had Idle Surge which is gone and Bad Gas mileage which is better.

like i said i love this car and i don't want to put anything cheap trying to put the best part right now is like a spoiled child the more i give it the more it wants i swear if i didn't like this car so much i'll be hitting it with a bat right now. i checked the forums to do research and google and didn't find anything that will be a direct fit to the cat back that's y i'm asking for sum advice as what to buy to make sound nice and good performance downpipe or a combo and what

Then there will probably be some welding involved, or just buy a whole new system.
Welding exhaust really really isn't that dificult, you just need the proper flanges.
