Weird problem

ok i have a 95 talon tsi awd with a 98 gst motor and 14b turbo...i have this problem that i cant seem to fix

1. some times when i first start the car no matter how much i let it warm up if i pull up to a light or stop sign it tries to die out so i have to give it a little gas if idont it stalls but after like 5 minutes of driving its fine it doesnt try to die or anything
......maybe bad alternator right? the battery voltage is good when cars off and 14v when cars on so alternator is kinda working but atnight with headlights on when i use the window button oranything the lights dim out and then get bright again it has a new battery so do you think its the alternator even though the volts seem fine

2. also im having issues with hesitation sometimes while cruising i try to floor it and the rpms and boost go up but the car feels like its being held back it doesnt really go anywhere i have to drop the gas and then go which seems to help it only does it sumtimes though thats why i dont know whats up

i have no vacuum going to the fpr solenoid because the nipples broke but it is still connected
i had a bad o2 that i just changed that got rid of the studdering issue i had
i have alittle exhaust leak just before the cat butafter the turbo that i will get fixed tommorow
i just changed the sparkplug wires but still hesitates
and i put the spark plug wires how they go for the inverted cas


any ideas on what to check or what could solve this....thanx

Sounds like a vacuum leak which is supported by whatever you've done with your fpr.

Search the forums for "boost leak test" to find out how to make a tool to check for intake leaks. A tester costs about $6 to make and if you have an older car you probably have some leaks, finding them could net you several horsepower, better gas mileage and a car that doesn't hesitate or stall.

as a Mork Said, You got some boost leaks,when the car warms up,and like you said you turn your lights on,so the engine gets more load,and the vac drops lower,so if you are leaking boost,as vac being low, thats why your car stalls.
