Ok so I have an AEM EMS and apparently AEM is going down the tube because me and a buncha other people are having electronic problems with them. I found someone that's is buying my ems and I was looking at DSM link. Well I already have a friend with DSMlink and I came across this. eBay Motors: 95-99 ECLIPSE/TALON 4g63 EPROM ECU DSMLINK CHIPPED!!! (item 110306097517 end time Nov-04-08 15:21:38 PST) (Item 110306097517) So if I get this is there anything I need to switch over or something big EMS has Dsmlink doesn't?

Just so you know, ECM tuning will not replace the cable that is missing as that is the proprietary part for 2g cars. Say you and your friend have a falling out or you move or something, you are screwed. Also I would email ECMtuning (read DSMLink) and ask them to see if it is legit. Also if you aren't running a MAF sensor you will need one to run with DSMLink.

k sounds good. Well ive known this kid for 10 years im sure he will be around for a while. So i guess im going to have to get a GM MAF translator, I can deal with that.

I was looking on the DSMlink site and everything shows this to be the real one!!

If that is a legit copy of Link, the kid selling should be able to contact DSMLINK and see if he can get another cable.. I would think there is SOMETHING DSMlink can do to resolve the lost cable without spending 500 for a new setup.

There is also no mention of what its programmed with in its stock form.. 450? 650? injector size would be helpful.

downgrade? what kind of electronic problems have you had with aem? j/w i dont have any trouble with my ems. and would never go back to dsmlink.

V3 is taking forever to come out, and there is no indication it will come out soon.

The 1993 Eclipse was my old car I have a 1999 GSX now.

The AEM is loosing my tune almost everytime I turn the car on.

I talked to the ebay guy more and he said that it is a legit copy and will transfer ownership after purchace and its setup for 550cc injectors.

Also I did some research and DSMLink will NEVER replace a cable again :(

"So we're left with no choice but to simply stop replacing cables. I suspect this is why other shops selling similar products had to do the same thing. You can thank anyone that you find selling copies of our stuff for the hassle."

As Brian has pointed out, my first post said V3 WILL be out before the end of the year.

The only way you would get a 2G cable is if Tom and Dave knew you were very trust worthy, you still might not get one then.

1G owners can get all the cables they want basically though since the memory board is the thing you would need to copy with the 1G version.
