well after waiting for a long time i finaly got the engine mounts instaled and the car is running perfectly now ( this was really an expensive repair it cost me $340 USD ) damn for only 3 mounts

now after installing them i have an extreme loss of power when i put the AC on ??????/

the car without AC is really fast and the turbo and everything else runs perfectly however when i put the AC on the car is heavy and i am loosing a lot of power ? any idea why ?

plus now when i am shifting to second gear i feel that it really not smooth it like heavy shifts , it was not like that before? ???? shifting gears now is hard ???????

Thanks for your input ( GST 1996 Manual)

yes i know that you loose power usualy when the AC is on but i am loosing too much power here ????????? the car is really slow when the AC is on ?

what about the other problem of the gear? does it have anything to do with new mountings

Do you know how much power your losing when your A/C is on? have you like.. dynoed the difference? or is it based on your "butt dyno"?

As for the gears what type of mounts did you use? I was told that the ride would be a lil rough with polyurethane mounts over stock mounts. But idk why mounts would contribute to shift firmness.

i changed the mounts by Genuine mitsubishi parts and its damn expensive

for the loosing power side , i really feel its taking around 50% from the engine power is it normal like that ????? its really very slow when the AC is on ???

thnaks

Ive never experienced any car lose that much power when the A/Cs on.. doesnt sound right to me but im not sure what would cause that much power loss.

Is it possible that something might have "loosened" up in process of putting the mounts on? Maybe your mounts are stiff since they are new?

i did the mount change my self and it took me 7 hours to do the job ( IT WAS REALLY an experience ) but after that i went to the mechanic and i told him to check everything and he said that the job done is clean and ok

so nothing is loose or bent

can someone answer me please on why the gear is doing that and why the car is loosing 2 much power when the AC is on ? dont forget that there is no vibration when the AC is on and the car runs smoothly ? but the power is really bad ( i can hear and feel the Turbo engaging but its just not accelarating at all ) once i put the AC is the car is a ROCKET again ?????????? anyone please

my car was a dog when i used ther a/c it was a big diff. i just did not use it, i took it out. but may you a/c compresser is going bad, draging down the motor.

Since you had the motor moving around changing the mounts have you done a boost leak test to make sure that you dont have any. And as for the shifting when was the last time you changed the fluid and make sure that something didnt fall down around the shifting linkage above the trannsmission

nothing fell down from the transmision or the engine , plus the car accelarate nicely and fast without AC . when the AC IS ON ITS LIKE A TURTLE its really slow

with regards to the Trany oil i dont know about it if it was changed or not , i recently bought this car because its manula after having an AUTO before

i will go and change the oil today can you recommned good oil for hot country ( i am in DUbai ) and the pink syncronisch will not work on the trany here with the heat

thanks

Please use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

When you change mounts, even to brand new OEM mounts, it's stiffer than what you currently have. Generally, you get reduced wheel hop, the engine moves less, and shifting feels sharper and cleaner.

Have you turned the A/C on before changing the mounts? If not, then your butt dyno has no say in what may constitute as 50% power loss.
