I think i need a new clutch... My car usually pushes around 18 psi. In the higher psi ranges say 15psi+ it seems like the clutch starts to slip... I was looking at a ACT 2600 set up but i had a guy tell me that i would have alot of success with the ACT 2900 with a slightly stronger that stock clutch.. this would allow the clutch to slip in the lower psi ranges and catch in the higher.... I just need some help finding the rite clutch set up.... and if i do go with the Act 2600 set up i want it to still be driveable but also strong at the strip and i was lookin at the 4puck or the 6 puck... which would be better??? some one HELP!!! LOL

Thanks

do you daily drive the car? Either ACT clutch will be noticably harder to pusht he clutch pedal down. also be sure that when you get a new or resurfaced flywheel that your machinist knows what he is doing or you might have some issues with clutch engagement.

RRE's Clutch And Flywheel Tech Info

check this page out. if they dont machine it correctly it can lead to some problems.

Also what are your HP aspirations? 18psi is def higher for a daily driver if it isnt built up. if you want to eventually build a monster in the next couple of years dont limit yourself now with a subpar flywheel/clutch that cant transmit the power.

To help you better, we'd need to know what your hp/torque numbers are and what your current setup is (please fill out your profile!!).

My guess is that a 2600 would be more than enough. Couple that with a Southbend disc, and you have a setup proven to hold upwards of 550 ft.lbs. of torque (achieved by twicks69). If you drive the car on the street at all, I would say to go with a sprung disc, as it will make driving easier.

I'm currently running a 2100/street disc/stock flywheel setup with a small 16g at 24 psi. It is holding up fine. Just for a reference, if you'd like.

I was looking to one day have it buil... Im shooting for around 650-700hp.... yes its a daily driver and i havent had it dynoed yet but ill post that info as soon as i do.

Okay, that's more possible not worrying about a built transmission and axles but 500hp is pushing it on terms of your driving abilities and what you want to primarily use your car for. I'd stick with Fidanza 4.3 or ACT 2600 clutch.
