ok i have replaced my head gasket with a cometic MLS gasket and used new ARP head studs torqued to 92 foot pounds. i am still getting air in my cooling system somehow. i t doesn't over heat and it displaces about a 20 ounces of water when i drive it and sometimes i get little bubbles going into my overflow tank when i turn car off after driving. i have replaced my water pump, thermostat, upper and lower rad hoses and my rad cap. when i replaced all those things i backflushed my radiator, block and heater core. thermostat is installed correctly and im still getting air, any suggestions????:barf:

Get a coolant system pressure tester and make sure that everything is air tight. If that passes I would say look for a hole somewhere in the line that sits in the reservoir. Maybe when the coolant is dropping in temp and trying to get back inside of the motor it's drawing air through a hole instead of liquid. But all of that would have to take place before the housing. Just my .02

thank you, i havent thought about the line going from the coolant neck and the reservoir. will do, thanks.:thumb:

ok i used a coolant system pressure checker and i lost about 1 psi over 30 min time. is this acceptable? i think it would loose alittle over time. i decided to pump it up to about 18 psi and leave it over night to see if i can spot a leak in the morning. i'll post my findings tomorrow.

found a leak on my water neck, ot sure if it is a crack in the neck itself or if it is one of the sensors leaking.i will post rsults when i get them.:thumb:

ok, i pressure tested the system to 20 p.s.i and in 30 min time it leaked it all out. i found that where the heater core returns into the water neck it was leaking. i replaced the bad hose clamp and i retested the system and it kept its 20 p.s.i for 2 hours. i still have a few little bubles but i think thats just because i havent gotten all the air out yet. thank you for all your help.:thumb:

ok fellow fourm members, i have replaced everything in my cooling system except for my radiator, and it has no leaks and flows great! no leak down on cooling system pressure test, great compression, no exhaust gasses in the cooling system. again new everything (hoses, heater core, heatercore hoses, thermostat, and rad cap.) no system pressure loss, and no exhaust gases in the cooling system.
now it displaces a normal amount of water while it is running, but doesnt pull it all back in. its driving me nuts and im out of ideas. ive feel like i have beat this subject to death!:beatentodeath:
