2g eclipse i want to get rid of the stock maf sensor. i see these things called maf translator and also 3 maf's witch is better.? and do they make an aftermarket map sensor that bolts onto the intake or can i get rid of the map sensor some how?

the 3" MAF works just like your stock one except it's bigger. You need the translator, which is a little box that plugs in to the original harness of your stock MAF, to translate the signals from the 3"MAF so that your ECU can understand.

If you decide to vent out your blow off valve just know that you will get rich air fuel ratios between shifts, if not tuned right (the translator box has a few knobs inside to make adjustments) you might get some engine stalls between shifts.

Unless your flowing hugh amounts of air its pointless or you really want to vent your BOV with out the car falling on its face the 2g MAF is good. If you plan on getting DSMLink in the future i would hold off until V3 comes out which should eliminate the need for the MAFT.
