Before I install the new seal, I would like to know am I supposed to coat the new seal in motor oil or grease?

i used a little but of wd-40 to lube it up some. i put mine on while it was on the motor stand and when i took it off a few days later to drop in my motor, i noticed a part of the rubber not seated properly. had to take it off and and re do it. good thing i caught that. don't forget the oil seperator! i also believe torque spec is 9 ft/lbs. hopefully i answered your question.

I used a silicone based grease on the lip. Helps it slide on and the silicone helps seal it.
