Started the car for the first time in 9 months yesterday due to a huge build. Car cranks fine. On initial start-up, after it catches, I gotta pat the gas 3-4 times and then the car will idle completely on its own. It will idle at 1000, and then every 5-10 seconds it will bounce to 1500, and then fall back to 1000. Boost gauge reads -10vac. If you are driving, it is perfectly fine. Acts like a normal drive. If I clutch for a stop sign or red light, I have to pat the gas 1 time. Even the slightest of presses will keep the car alive. Then it will go right back to the 1000-1500 idle.
-10vac tells me vaccuum leak... I cannot find a vac leak anywhere.
Also, there is a crackling noise that comes from inside the engine bay...maybe a bad plugwire? It sounds like its from that general area. Would that cause it to fluctuate the way it is doing?...Or is that just the injectors?
Symptoms: -10vac; crackling noise around plugwires, initial start needs a little gas to keep it alive, clutching for stop sign/red light needs smallest of gas press to stay alive.
New cams too: FP2x's
