There are quite a few different sensors on the elbow holding the thermostat, and this one has been broken for quite some time. The plastic and electric connection have been long gone. When I go to a parts store like AutoZone or Murray's, I don't know how to describe it.

Can someone please help me correctly name this part and/or possibly help me find a link/part number from the two parts stores (or Advanced Auto Parts) above?

In the picture, I'm pointing to the broken sensor, and holding the two-prong connection. Thanks in advance!

Called a Temp Sensor - a device to communicate with the ECU on coolant temperatures to get the air/fuel ratios correctly.

Looks like the motor has been modded a bit with the vacuum lines removed from the vacuum sensor above this sensor that you're pointing to to the EGR valve (which is prob removed).

You might have to head to NAPA or a more higher end parts store to get this sensor than (gag!) Autozone or other "Wal-mart" auto places..

Its just known as a "Temp Sensor" for the ECU? Looks like AutoZone and Murray's can't find their own arse-hole if they were looking for it.

I thought it was the temp sensor that engages the fans, but looking at the setup, I might just be looking at the sensor directly below it. I have an APEXi NEO and MAF Translator for tuning, but if this is a key sensor, I most definitely will go out and pick one up!

Thanks for the info. Anyone have a part number for this little guy?

It's the coolant temp sensor for the a/c. It turns the a/c off if the engine temperature gets up to 239*. This one comes on the top and the other one is supposed to be where this one is. It won't change their operation being like this though. The one below it is the one for the ecu that changes how much fuel enters the motor. The single wire one to the right on the bottom is for the gauge. And there is one on the bottom of the radiator that controls the fans.

i just ordered a new one lastnight. its a coolant temperature sensor.

The coolant temp sensor is directly below this one, which has two perpendicular connections...(one horizontal, and the other vertical). That one on my car is fully intact, and connected.

Is this the one you ordered...

The sensor that I am talking about is the one I'm pointing to that has a two prong connection (looks like possible needle-like prongs). I'm holding that connection on the lower part of my hand in the picture.

NOW I'M REALLY CONFUSED!

oo..sorry man. i got ya now. your thermostat housing is different than mine and i didnt even take notice in the other sensor below.

There's no reason to be confused. Read my other post, it is right.
