London,
The bolt which mounts the throttle body to my intake manifold broke, so I tried to get it out with an extractor, the bolt then broke inside and only half came out. I tried to get the other half out with the extractor and then it just broke. I tried to drill out the broken extractor and damaged the threads at the front somewhat. Now I think I should just get a Heli coil and drill the whole thing out, first is this a good idea? and second, do i have any other options?

This is a picture, blue is intake manifold itself, green is the broken bolt, and red is the broken extractor.

If the threads are beyond repair I would either helicoil or drill and tap the hole to the next largest size in SAE. The only problem with the SAE bolt is you will possibly have to drill the hole slightly larger in the throttle body as well. Either one should work.

You're so screwed. Not only is the original screw stuck, but it's now wedged by the broken extractor, and the extractor is too hard to drill. With time and patience you can grind it out with a Dremel, but of course that will destroy the threads as it jumps and bangs into them, and trust me, it will. And I presume this is still on the car? Yeah. You are screwed.
Otherwise, yes, a Heli-Coil will work there.
