Just hooked up my new glowshift oil pressure gauge. I'm getting between 8-10 psi at idle. 30-50 when just casually driving. And when i go WOT it goes to about 80psi. Does this sound somewhat normal? Too high too low? Running a 16g btw.

Even for a non-BSE car, that idle pressure seems kind of low. I'd like to see around 15psi at idle.

I believe that the pressure switch for the light activates at around 5psi? Mine has been known to flicker on hot days (my idle will drop down to 600rpms on really hot days when stuck in traffic). So far, no problems have resulted, so you probably don't need to panic, but I don't like it...

How's the oil change interval and all? Filter too. When I first got my car it was so bad the oil light was on the way home. Took 3 oil changes to get pressure back to normal. Now I motor flush, use rislone, and change the filter EVERY time.

Anyways I DOUBT that is the problem though as I'm sure you take a lot better care then that! But still simple stuff like that above helps. Oil level check too. Good luck in this.

Normal for having balance shafts. I do notice though that the oil pressure goes up a TON right after an oil change and gradually goes down with the life of the oil.

Just put mine in about a week ago, and it seemed to be high for a few days. 20-40 at idle. But now it's at 10-12 idle dropping to 7-8 at times. So I don't know if there is a break in period for the senders of what

I've got an autometer full sweep 0-100 psi OP gauge. Motor only has about 10k on it. i run about 8-9 at idle. around 50 on interstate. And at WOT It'll peg to 100psi. and when i start it it'll be around 70. My car runs fine. 100psi is alot. and I DONT have balancer shafts.

ok so i just put in my oil pressure gauge tonight and i know on cold start it will be high but after driving for awhile around 20 minutes the oil pressure was still spiking my gauge at 3500 rpm, at 2500 rpm it was right under 100psi, at 2000 rpm its around 50-75 psi. i've read other post about this and how you need to port the relife hole when you have no balance shaft which i dont have one, but all the links i found to show how to do it or which hole needs to be ported dont work. so can someone help me with which hole needs to be ported and how much it should be ported?

When hot, I run 30psi at idle, 50psi at 30mph, 90 at 65, 100 at 80 100+ at 100+.

6 Bolt w/BSE running 5w-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic w/K&N oil filter.
