montreal,
Hey everyone, i got a question about o2 housings.

Right now i got a apexi n1 catback with a megan racing downpipe on my 97 gst,
i still got the stock o2 housing with it, i needed to know if i change my o2 to a turbular one or porting it, will give me more power and will it make my exhaust louder?

thanks in advance

ok thanks for the replies, i got 1 more question the downpipe i have the inlet is the same size as stock
and the outlet is 3 inches, is that downpipe robbing any power?

i dont care that much about noise i just dont want tyo have any restrictions, i will be putting a ported
14b on this winter any recomendations on what else i should port? I wanna notice a diffrence.
i have a fpr, 255 fuel pump, fmic, air intake, boost controller.

A bunch of guys out this way including myself run those ebay tubular o2 housings. I sprung for the recirc ### I wanna keep the noise down, my buddy had the o2 dump before he sold his car. That b!tch was loud, but the boost needle didnt MOVE once it got to whatever it was set @.

Most people's dp starts @ 2.5 and flares to 3 after the flex. Trust, it wont rob you of enough power to recognize. You'll see, once your car starts making power, it wont really matter. I got a custom 3in with 3in flex, at the time, just to show off. It doesnt make a big difference.

As for exhaust being louder, I honestly can tell the difference. I had stock 2g o2 housing, and then my 3in dp, and 3 in exhaust, and with the tubular o2 housing thats on there now, i can tell the noise diff @ idle. It's not EXUBERANT, but I can tell. I don't mind it, I usually have the system up loud anyway.

what about porting the 2g manifold is it worth it?
and the o2 housing is it better to just port the stock one or to buy a megan racing one and port it?

i have the ssac(i believe) tubular recirc o2 housing and a megan racing downpipe. It was a pain in the ass to fit and i believe i have some added stress on the downpipe flex part. The stock o2 housing didnt have this issue.

Any ideas on a different o2 housing that would flow good and hopefully fit ok? I hear things about the evo III o2 housing not fitting well either, so what are my options?

I had a bunch of people tell me that the SSAC housing didn't fit well. I don't know why but mine fit well. I had to file one of the openings for the bolts just a little bit but besides that I had no problems with the downpipe or anything else. I got the one with the dumper tube so maybe it is a little different. Also 1G vs. 2G is probably the difference. I guess I just got lucky LOL

Punishment makes great O2 housings. I would check them out in the link provided below.

I would suggest porting the stock one, you can always upgrade later if you are not satisfied.

I'm still sitting stock with my exhaust. I am interested in doing the entire turbo back system.

If anyone has a complete exhaust setup and has had np with it, let me know. Not to buy, just to push me in the right direction. I wouldn't mind an open dump o2 as this is just my summer ride and I won't be driving it everyday. I've been looking on ebay for the "right" parts and I think I've got what looks good to me, but let me know whats been good and what's been bad.

Thanks in advance!!!

Umm, did you post this in the wrong thread? Search the many exhaust threads to find what you are looking for. Megan racing makes quality, cheap parts. I have their downpipe mated to an ebay apexi n1 catback, and am happy. And while you may think you might not mind the o2 dump, many will tell you that you will after a while.
