I am rebuilding a 1g 6 bolt. I am new to dsm's so i just want some good advise. I have the block stripped down completely. I want to know what mods i shoud do as far as internals, head, intercooler etc. to get 300 - 350hp. I have a ported 14b i would like to use if possible. Please give me a fairly detailed list of parts. Thanks.

Follow the upgrade path's on this website: Tech Guide - DSMtuners.

Are you putting the 14b and 6 bolt into your n/t? As far as engine internals, you'd be fine with the stock internals (1g rods, 2g pistons) to meet your hp goals. Are you using a 1g or 2g head? You can always upgrade your cams while you're putting the engine back together.

Its a 6 bolt turbo block. staying with the 14b. was going to go with 1g head. so you say 1g rods with 2g pistons. what about the head? any mods besides cams. I was planning on doing cams and gears.

if your gonna go with some new cams you might want to upgrade your valvetrain too, maybe some stiffer valve springs and/or some 1mm oversized valves, but im new to dsm's too, i have also heard of using an evo 3 exhaust mani too for better flow and better spool but idk:dsm:

Nothing is needed on the longblock. Not even a turbo upgrade if your motor and turbo came from a m/t car. 2g maf and safc, or maft. I'd get a used 7cm^2 turbine housing. Open exhaust (3" would be ideal). Ebay fmic. 550cc injectors and an evo 9 fuel pump.

Don't waste your money with cams. Yea more power is had on them. But for your goal, you'll loose spool speed and response for the same horsepower at 15psi instead of 20 psi. And either boost can be tuned to 320ish hp with pumpgas and a decent fmic.
