Well I just got done with my compression test and it went like this:
~180 ~180 ~130 ~180

Then went back and did a wet test on the third one and the compression was ~210, now correct me if I am wrong but the test suggests a worn o-ring. Should my next test be a leak down test? Someone suggest to me it could be a bent/bad valve? White smoke with a hint of blue. :beatentodeath:

I will do the leak down test some time this week. But from what I've read it's the piston ring =(

Yes most likely its a piston ring. Thats usually the cause when you get a much higher reading doing a wet compression test. A leakdown test should be done now. Make sure the car is warm when you do it. When doing the leakdown test, listen through the dipstick and if you heard air leaking in there you know its your piston rings. Do you have any smoke coming out the tailpipe?

Yeah, a lot of smoke at idle, mostly white with a hint of blue (i think), hard to tell if there is blue though.

How hard is it to replace the rings? I've never took apart a motor before on any type of car. How much can I expect to pay to get it done?

Well you have to get the pistons & rods out to replace the rings. To do that you need to pull the engine out. Then, you need to pull the head off. Flip it over and push the rods and pistons out through the top of the engine. Then pull the front cover so you can pull the crank. You will need to hone the block by either renting/buying a hone tool or taking the block to a machine shop to have them do it. If you are unfamiliar with an internal combustion engine then your best bet is to have a shop do it. But, the extent of the work will be pricey. You're best off buying a rebuilt short block and installing it yourself. Good luck :thumb:

Yeah I was just thinking about getting a short block and installing it. I do have all winter to work on it though. Hmm, decisions decisions.
