Weird audio problem

So I bought a temporary replacment deck a number of months ago because my Dual head unit crapped out. Well I had problems with my amp and sub for a while and didn't have it connected until a week or so ago after I replaced my battery when I left the door ajar one night and drained it for good. So I fixed two problems at once.

Well anyways all of the audio works fine. However My amplifier only turns on when I have the radio on. When I switch to a CD, it turns off. I can't even begin to comprehend this problem. Everything is wired correctly. My guess is the deck.

does this new deck of yours have 2 blue wires. usually when this is the case, one is for antennas (power antennas actually, no use to use this for cars that have non-power antennas), and the other being for the amp remote turn on. they act similar though, but the antenna only being for the radio.

so double check again.

this seems to be your problem if it only turns on with radio, but is off with every other source.

I had exactly this problem with a blazer I had at one point with a Sony deck. It was exactly what Redturboeclipse said, find an actual wiring diagram for your deck and see if it really is wired correctly.

Like said above you probally have to blue wire and one of them more than likely has a whit stripe on it. When you have 2 blue wires one will be power antenna and the other will be amp turn on
