Hello , i was wondering if someone could help me out with a slight problem with my hybrid build, some people call it homegrown. Anyway im having a slight problem making the factory tach work, and im here in search for an answer. First off the ECU and everything connected to is its a 1990 model non eprom and such, Does anyone know how to make this ecu more tach friendly? i mean without the use of a tacho interface or noise filter.im sure i could just pull the wiring out and mod it to a 92 + and get over that problem, but like i said im here in search for an answer so suggestions are welcome. The problem is i am trying to make a POSITIVE input tach work ) yes i tried feeding a ground pulse on the tach wire and it remained perfectly still,i feed a + pulse to it and it moves. So back to the question how could i make my stock tach work ? other ideas i had in mind is a switching circuit much like found in the RRE/ Magnus 6 bolt 2g conversions.Anyone else have a better idea ? if so please let me know, thanks in advance

I thought it should be there because of my extra high post count of 1, thanks for moving it , hopefully someone has an answer to my question. Since we're on this subject, can i do a build thread on this in the near future? Thanks

Your post makes no sense at all. All I get from it is you have a 90 non eprom ecu and the tach doesn't work.

Sometimes i do that, sorry. So let me see if i could get this clear, Im using a 90 ECM ( dont matter if its EPROM or not) I am trying to figure a way to make it have a POSITIVE pulse from the TACHO interface(90's had them) that feeds a noise filter( i could put the wires together like in the mod for 90's to make a 92 + power trans and coils. The problem is its still a negative trigger for the tach output, my toyota uses a positive trigger. I fed a pulsed signal (+) to the tach and it jumps if i feed it (-) it does nothing.
