My car was hesitating on accelleration and I had no boost leaks, so I decided to do a good 'ol tune up.
-I replaced the plugs BPR6ES(I gapped them to mitsu spec of .28-.30), new wires and pcv valve.
-I rewired the fuel pump and did the homemade 4 gauge gounding kit.
-I also installed the STM fuel pump-to-rail upgrade with a new filter and all. ( I kinked my fuel line when trying to replace the OEM
)
-Of course, I changed the oil and oil filter while I was at it.
-I also got a can of MAF cleaner spray...aerosol that you spray on the maf internals.
-Lastly, I got a can of electrical connector cleaner, disconnected a good majority of my engine sensor plugs and sprayed them good. (My upper radiator hose had been dripping right onto the oxygen sensor plug over the past few months and it was nice and NASTY inside the plug - a tan/brownish goo fill the whole thing. I cleaned it as best as I could with the spray stuff and with my air compressor)
I just revved her up and checked for leaks and I saw some oil under the car...luckily, I just needed to tighten the drain plug a little more and I was all set. I took her for a spin around town and everything was good - except that when I pushed in the cluth, the RPMs would drop really low, to about 500 or 600 (basically to the bottom of the rpm guage). The car wouldn't die, nor did it sound like it was going to die, but the RPM level still scared me. I only drove the car about 2 miles and It seems that the more I drove it, the more the RPMs began to even out when I pushed in the clutch. I was still a little scared though. Could I have done any damage to something, or do you think that this is just the car getting used to being up on blocks for a few weeks and breaking in the new parts?
I did drop my MAF off the work bench one night...it fell about 4 feet onto the floor - think it could be damaged and causing a minor misreading of air flow? It seemed to look ok.
Thanks!

. Damn surge. Find what it goes to once the car is warmed up. If its under 700. Adjust the biss until around the 8-850 range. Once the car is idling like that, verify it stays the same when you come to a stop during your trip. Also, did you unfasten the battery. If so, the car may need to relearn the settings again. That takes a little while. Finally, do a boost leak test to find any leaks in the system. That will give a bad rpm as well. Good luck!
