I have heard great things about the XS Power 1G FMIC kit. I like the Punishment Racing kit better but like most DSM'ers, its a money issue. my question is when i go to the Xs Power site and click on the 1G FMIC kit it says intercooler piping kit, not FMIC. I emailed them and told them that they had the price for the FMIC kit on the piping kit instead! all they told me is that was wrong and they are sorry and told me that what i needed was the 2G kit? what the crap?!?!?!:notgood: So WHERE DO I FIND AND ORDER THIS KIT? Please guys help me.

Im in the same boat with you guys. You use to see it all over ebay for like $200. Now its no where to be found and I want one.

What is so hard about finding this?

1990-1994 FIRST GENERATION FMIC ECLIPSE TURBO KIT, GST , TALON , LANCER • SUPER FMIC UPGRADE FOR THE DSM 1G ECLIPSE • CORE MEASURING • 25X12X3" THICK ! • SUPER DESIGNED END-TANKS • FLANGE FOR BOV WELDED ALREADY • INCLUDES HIGH END RUBBERS AND T-BOLT CLAMPS • 50MM BOV INCLUDED

i have that kit just doesnt have XS POWER on the front.
I would hope not. That red lettering looks rather generic.

I think I'd put mine on backwards if it came with that lettering.

Yes thats the kit, but I thought he was talking ebay. I bought my full kit $150 shipped!!

I ran this same kit on my 1992 talon awd automatic. It ran perfectly fine. I didnt have any ill affects from the kit. Little bump in power. But I liked the kit overall and I only payed 150 when i got mine back then as well.

You got any pictures of the piping under the hood and without the front bumper on?

Xs power and ssautochrome are the same thing. So why is it that on ssautochrome website they only sell the 2nd gen kit for 245. And on xspowers website there selling it for 300?

F.M.I.C Kits Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc.

DSM INTERCOOLER KIT 1995 - 1999 2ND GEN 4G63, Mitsubishi Intercooler Kits, XS Power Inc.

Shipping through ssauto is only 25 so the total would be 270. I wonder why through xs you have to pay 30 more if there the same exact thing?

The 300 is for the fmic kit for the 1g's. The ssac kit for 275 is for the 2g's thats y this entire thread was started. SSAC/XS power 1G Kit.

Why would you want that crappy XS-P 1G kit with 7 miles of piping when you could probably scoop up this nice Short Route kit for around the same price? You wouldn't be stranded with the XS-P / Tial knockoff BOV that cannot be recirculated with this setup:

eBay Motors: Complete 1G DSM front mount intercooler kit (item 270277204335 end time Sep-27-08 14:08:31 PDT)

Now that the price is more I would agree and get the short route kit thats around 300+shipping. Only problem with these kits are the core is way smaller than the old ss auto/xs power kit. The extra piping shows no difference in spool over the short route in real life driving. Only on logs will you see a difference.

If I was him I would buy a cheap universal piping kit and a large core for cheap. That will perform the best.

If nothing else, I would be concerned with the pressure drop in association with the 7 miles of piping and the unnecessarily large core (more than half of which is blocked by the bumper) of the XS-P 1G kit.

The huge XS-P 1G core is 25"W X 12"H X 3"W, while the short-route core is 34"W x 8"H x 3.5"W....so while the XS-P core is slightly taller (again, the upper 2/3 of the core is covered entirely by the bumper), the short-route core is 9" wider and 1/2" thicker. The short-route core is nearly fully exposed without hacking the crap out of the bumper, also.

For me, the right choice is crystal clear.

My xs kit came on the car. It worked fine on my daily driver 92 gsx before so i had no problems with it being on there. Once i get my fp green back ill be going to shorte route. Made 387awhp with the fp and the intercooler the way it is now. So once i get it back on and the shorte routes we'll see if theres any difference.

And the two links you posted, one was for a 2g kit and one was for a 1g kit. This thread is all about the 1g kit. So why even bring up a 2g kit in the discussion? Its just pointless and a waste of time.

That is true, but I have always had better cooling results with larger cores even if it covered by the bumber. Also the pressure drop is not bad at all. Most of the pressure drop happens in the core. Also a good thing about the long route are the lines are smoother and you never have a bad 90* at the end tank like most short route kits. Not to mention it was more than double the price. Now that you cant find the xs power kit the choice is crystal clear, because you cant find the kit at the price it was at.
