1990 oil filter housing on 2g 7bolt, direct bolt on?

is it possible to use the oil filter housing with the external oil cooler provisions that only came on 89-90 1Gs on 7bolt 2gs?

the bolt pattern is different for 6 and 7 bolt motors, so no or maybe customization.

Just like everyone said, it wont work, the holes wont line up and if you want to run one, youll need the one from the evo 3 i think. You can get one for a 7 bolt with Mach V for around $160-180 but youll need to call them first to make sure they have it available.

HITT1 is correct. The '90 oil filter housings are for 6 bolts and the EvoIII oil filter housings are for 7 bolts. These specific models are only needed if you want to run an external oil cooler.

yea i knew about the EVOIII as the option for 7bolts, but obviously the price is too much just for external cooling.

I brought up using the 90, because its cheap, but looks like 7bolts are SOL. oh well, thanks for the replies.

I think the advantages of 'external cooling' are worth it, if you ask me. If you're going to push your turbo at all, I think you should really consider this a priority. A hot turbo really destroys oil.

You could always use the sandwich adapter to run an external. I did a 6 bolt swap so I didn't have to.
