I've been looking to upgrade my brake and I've decide on the Baer Claw Track or the Rotora but are two different Rotora brakes and I doesn't a clue on the difference.

Rotora Front 1pc 13in Brake Kit 4pot at $1345.

Rotora Front 2pc 13in Brake Kit 4pot at $1795.

The difference I can tell is the 1 piece vs. the 2 piece but both have 4 pistons. Is a 2 piece better that the 1 piece and is it worth the $450?

If they're anything like the TCE kits, the two pieces would be the hat and the rotor itself. I'm not sure of the reason behind doing this, but I'm sure Todd from TCE would be able to explain (or you might find it on his page or by searching). I do believe this is better though than a 1 piece.

But if you're looking to spend that kind of money, I would give Todd a call and talk to him. He's a supporting vendor here and has some really nice brake kits (will be my next kit :thumb:).

Just a suggestion, but that is a lot of money for a brake kit. I wanted a set of big brakes about a month ago. I was looking into all the expensive kits like that too. I ended up going with 12.5" 3000gt rotors with the vr4 4 piston calipers. I had to get the adaptor bracket from Garfield on Galantvr4.org. I have a wopping $350 into my "Big Brake" kit!:D I am very happy with it. It seems to really slow the car down. I am not a huge autocrosser or anything like that, I just wanted a nice brake setup and I got it.

Just a thought!:thumb:

Maybe I can shed some light on this for you. The 2 piece kits "usually" save a couple pounds of rotation weight because instead of the hat/rotor being iron (or what have you) they make the hats (the part that bolts to the actual hub) out of aluminum. What this does is allow you to change out the portion of the rotor that actually wears and (like mentioned earlier) saves a couple pounds of rotating weight. Rotora makes some nice kits although the prices are a little steep. Try the TCE kits for a better value. The main reason is the weight savings though. I'm by no means a brake guru but I know a thing or two. (Then again it's my lie and I can tell it however I want :thumb: )

Okay, it save weight but how much difference in handling does that make?

I heard the 2 piston Baer brakes are as good as the 4 piston TCE brakes in stop power and they dissipates more heat but there as heavy a$$ with much thicker rotors and brake pads.

So I'm conjuring whether to get the $900 Baer or the TCE or Rotora for $300-400 more. I don't do autocrossing just most drag and street racing in Calif.

I'd say probably around 5 to 6 pounds per side... You'd have to contact Rotora for the exact number. If it where going on my car I'd use a 12" rotor with a wilwood 6bl caliper, talk with Todd at TCE, he can give you a really nice setup that WILL out perform even the 93 - up awd big brakes by miles...
