my car has 180000 miles on it. there is hardly any valve noise, so i'm assuming the timing belt broke they slapped a new head on it. regardless this is what im planning to do before i start messing with it:

coolant flush
timing belt
water pump
tranny flush
coolant hoses
brake and clutch fluid
thermostat (what temp should i run)

i already put a k&n air filter and am running full synthetic oil with lucas additive in it.

anything else i'm missing.

and also do you think that is too high of miles to mod out like crazy(400ish hp eventually)

You can change you pcv valve and I would do all your belts. You should also check your compression before you start going crazy on mods to see how healthy your motor is with those high miles.

No less the 140 psi per cylinder ( I would call it off after 150 but that's your call really). Find the lowest thermostat you can ( some where between 160 and 190 would be nice)...

The most important part of a compression test is how close the numbers are together. Each of the four cylinders should all be right around the same number.
