What's up guys? I've got a question about my 1st gen trans. I just had it rebuilt, actually it was four years ago, but it's been stored until this summer. I've put 1,300 miles on her and it's spitting first gear out me already. Is it possible my clutch isn't engaging enough, or is there even an adjustment?? Any help would be great! :talon:

As long as you clutch pedal doesn't feel soft then it shouldn't be your master or slave cylinder. There is a pedal adjustment by where they go through the firewall and you can search on here to find how to do that. Also your best bet if its just popping out of first is to adjust the shifter linkage. If you search for that or look on vfaq.com I'm sure you can find the procedure.

Is this happening when you first try to put it into gear or is it after? if its at first it sounds like the clutch is not disengaging the engine all the way, if its after then it sounds like the detents are worn out inside the transmission, those are the little notches that keep it in the selected gear.
