e316g spark plug gap?

what spark plug gap do you guys recomend with my setup? im pushing about 22 lbs. i remeber reading a while back that for every 50hp over stock you have to close the gap by a certain mm. im not sure though. im at around 300wheel.thanks in advance.

i've never heard of having to change gap because of HP. I do know that closing the gap will cause you to have a weaker spark, which might not burn all the fuel in the chamber. i recommend sticking with stock gap

When going higher in the boost/hp range you need to close the gap to avoid spark blowout.. I run .018 gap with 32psi boost. For the OP i suggest .028
 
NGK BPR7ES's gapped to .28 is what I use.

Ditto on the gap except I have a better plug NGK makes that works like a champ. We used it in our 900hp Civic race car, my 470whp civic, my wifes and my GVR4's etc...

To the original poster. No you don't change gap per 50hp. You general gap the vehicle based on dyno runs/track runs but due to the huge community most people gap from .031 to . 028" on street cars. If you have a huge turbo running 30-40psi you'll have to change things cause the boost pressure effectually blows out the spark but I'm sure that's not a problem for most of us :)

It's not "blowing out". When you compress air, unlike other materials, its resistance increases. The spark won't reliably make it across the larger gap due to electrical resistance.

Still, don't bother with goofball plugs. Stay with the simple NGK BPR6ES, unless you're boosting hard and often enough to need the colder plugs.
