Type RS hole = leak

I have a true Greddy Type RS bov, I did a boost leak leak today and the hole at the back of the BOV leaks really bad. Is this because my BOV is not sealing? Is there anyway to fix this?

I found this same hole and was wondering the same thing. Did you figure out your answer? Does anyone else know why there's a hole and if its normal for it to be leaking during a blt. I found that it also leaks from where the valve isn't completly sealing. Is this normal?

puts some teflon tape over the threads and call it a day.

the type rs is a POS. replace it. trust me i have one. its cause more compressor surge for me than is worth it for. it doesn't even sound that good.

Its not leaking from the threads there's just a lille hole in the back of it that looks like it was made that way and i was just wondering why it was there and if it's supposed to be doing that and it leaks from inside by the valve. I plan on replacing it soon. I haven't liked this bov since i bought the car with it already on it.

the only hole that should be in the back of it is the threaded adapter for the vacuum line.

oh you're talking about under the lip on the bottom part. huh, never noticed that at first... idk man.

There's a little pin hole right underneath where the vacuum line goes.

after doing some research, the whole on the back is useless. just cap it off.

alright thanks. Yes i was aware that it's 2 years old. I searched like ## supposed to and only found this thread about it and it was unanswered. Instead of making a new one I just posted on here. I thought that would be better.

If you disconnect the vacuum line and plug the line during your blt it should stop, if it still leaks out of the vent hole than your diaphram inside the valve is leaking, and could be a hole in the diaphram which could get bigger and then the valve may not open properly.
