I have an AVCR so it's a solenoid type boost controller. I was thinking about relocating it to the driver side of the engine bay. Due to the fact that I will be running a Tial off the O2 housing, the current location next to the airbox is not ideal. It'll make the vac line longer than it needs to be and it'll most likely bump into the turbo, manifold, or downpipe, possibly melting it. So my question is, can I tap it off the intake manifold instead of the fitting on the turbo? One reason I want to do this is because you will be getting a true boost pressure reading for the solenoid but I'm not entirely sure if there are any disadvantages to it. I know teeing off the BOV line is bad so I won't do that.

Teeing off from the plenum is just fine. Some actually prefer it over an intercooler pipe source. You'll need to find and use a vacuum nipple, so you may have to sacrifice something else. Suppose you could use the brake booster source if necessary. But I prefer giving it its own source, as opposed to sharing.

I was planning on teeing it off the FPR line as usual but I can see that starting to be taxed heavily. My boost gauge, AVCR bar, and AFPR are all using that source.

Might actually have to put some work into this and drill-n-tap for another source. Your decision.

I too would like to know which nipples on the TB are boost only and boost/vacuum. I know that the ports are A1, A2, E and P but thats pretty much it.
