Ok this is gonna be hard to explain but I'll try. Before I start, I don't have any boost leaks. When driving normally, my car runs fine, but when I give it a little gas like below 3000 rpms my boost gauge says I'm starting to boost (anywhere from 5-15 psi) but the car has LESS power than if it wasn't in boost at all. It doesn't have a great tune on it, but it's a pretty basic set up still. I just wanna know what it is because it doesn't seem to fit the symptoms of boost creep/spike. In higher rpms, it seems like phantom knock, but it still runs really weird in lower rpms. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks in advance.
 
I've changed my spark plugs a bunch of times thinking that they could be the problem most of the time, but it hasn't seemed to help when I change them.

Hey! I had this same problem. I didn't do a boost leak test, but decided to re clamp all my tbolts. And my bottom two clamps were pretty loose, so I think that was the problem.

Also, a word of warning, my turbo just went out, so it may have been a dying turbo.
 
You have a fuel pressure gauge?

I have a AFPR, I don't think the gauge on there is the same as just a typical fuel pressure gauge, is it?

I've switched between my EvoIII16g to a stock 14b to rule that out, it runs the same way with each turbo.

Maybe it just needs a good, professional tune?
