ARRG WATER IN GAS TANK! fuel pump jump?

well while doing some dataloggng for idle, i ran out of gas. me being no where near a gas station at my house, i grab my can of sunoco maximal 116 i have and pour it in, but notice it looks a lil...thin...(its the red one) so i pour some out and SON OF A bi*** WATER GOT INTO THE GAS CAN. so i go back and grab ANOTHER 5 gallon pail of maximal and pour it in to try and maybe even out the amount of water cause it would be luck to get rod knock.

my questin is how do i jump the fuel pump, and where should i tap off the line to drain it? im pretty damn nervous right now, combined iwth the fact two nights ago i ran out of gas and drove the christ out of the car to get it to the gas station and never got to see if idid any damage with that...anyone ?

Is there a drain plug on the bottom of the tank. also i would unhook the line at the fuel rail and turn the car over till no more gas is in the lines

may i ask where this plug is? this is a vr4 galant so would it be the same place?

I don't know if the Galant has this but 1g Talons, Lasers, and Eclipses have a plug on the firewall that can be used to turn on the fuel pump. Are there any empty plugs on the firewall?

Not sure if the galant has one but the drain plug is on the bottom of the gas tank on the eclipse

hmm, ill have to check when i drainit tommrow, tonoight is not my night to be ####ing with fuel .

grab a 17mm and a 14mm wrench and on the passenger side/ in front of the rear tire....loosen the fuel line and let the gas pour out....too easy....did the same thing

did your car run fine afterwards? this has NEVER hapened to mebfoe and im scared shit .


edit: are you sure ill have it in the same place as your gsx since mines a VR4...sucks having a car SLIGHTLY dif then most on this forum

How much water apprx. are we talking about? Did you try HEET or Drygas? It doesn't only stop water in the tank from freezing, it's absorbs it.

ya that heet stuff is mostly alcohol. it causes the moisture in the gas to disperse. the fuel pump relay is under the hood you can jump it and make the pump run. ill try to find a wiring diagram.
