i talk to the shop today and they said that if i were to tune/dyno with the safc neo, i can only boost up to maybe 3 psi only....not sure if it's true....and they said that it wouldn't give alot of power out of my mod i have too....i don't really know now.... i'm kinda stuck..... plus another thing, they said that it'll tune right and everything but it'll not be like the safc II... i guess they meant thery're different....and tune different...not sure....any one have anything are welcome.....

yea the safc-II is a better tuner for the cars. i have one on mine but just running stock boost on a 20g maybe tune it in the fall.

Hmmm... When I was researching on the SAFC II and Neo everyone said to get the SAFC II cause its "better". I than came across the "better" reasoning. It only being the fact you can save 2 tunes as the Neo can only save 1. Anyone is welcomed to jump in and maybe give better reasoning to why the SAFC II is better.

Well the NEO doesn't do knock, but you should be able to get that on your logger anyways...

Neither of them allow you to view knock, so that's a moot point. The Neo looks cooler than the SAFC-II and has more Ne points than the SAFC-II. The SAFC-II on the other hand allows you to save two different maps. So you could have one for race gas and one for pump. Or perhaps an agressive tune and a conservative tune. Oh and don't forget the Neo does VTEC. :p

Follow Brian's advice and make sure your Neo is running the newest software that works with the Karmen sensor properly. If not, you risk damage to the motor.

When you say "boost up to 3psi" what do you mean? Are they telling you that you can only boost 3psi? Also, your post is really hard to read and not very clear. If you could clean it up a little, you'll get more responses. :thumb:

they said that it can boost about 3 pounds more... but i just talk with a boddy and he said psi and pound are different....let's say 3 pounds of boost equals 9 psi or something like that, i'm not sure..
i'm all ready for dyno tuning at the shop today...i don't think my neo has the new software in it.. what should i do...like i said i'm ready for dyno/tuning already. should i just go ahead and try it out??????????

"pounds" and "psi" are the exact same thing. PSI = pounds per square inch.

Saying, "I'm running 18 pounds of boost" is the exact same thing as saying "I'm running 18psi."

Make sense?

If your Neo isn't running the software that fixes the Karmen sensor linearity problem, DO NOT dyno the car. You could literally blow the motor because of the coding error.

Here you go:

NEO reprogramming criteria:
1. Using NEO on Karman sensor car (Mitsubishi and some Toyotas)
2. Last five digits in the serial number is smaller than 13800
(sample serial number: AFC4 UN06-13726)
3. There is no Karman compatibility sticker on the back

Check your serial number and look for the Karmen compatibility sticker on the back.

you know that you need to contact Apexi and get the fix for the Karman....our cars run off Karman and can not be adjusted with the stock neo
