I just picked up my first DSM, a 1992 eagle talon Tsi. I have searched and read vfaq for the last 2 months but never found the answer i need. The 7 bolt motor in the 92 year model, does it have the bigger throttle body and better flowing heads like the 6 bolts? Everything i have found says the head design and throttle body didnt change till the 95 model. Any help would be greatly aprieciated.

Not to mention the 6 bolt has much stronger rods that are known to hold about a 100 more hp or so than the 7bolt :D

well the mods i have planned....i wont be much over 300 if i even hit that...not going for a strip terror....just a fun car to drive

i forgot to mention that it is an AWD...but an auto trans unfortunately...i already have a 14b with a craked hot side housing ready...with a 7cm replacement for the craked housing. also have the evo3 o2 housing...just need bigger injectors...probably 515 or 550...the evo3 exhaust mani...a down pipe and cat back.....and DSm link of course...maybe V3 will be ready by the time i need it...also need that 2g MAS....so yeah i am probably going to be under 300hp...but since the car is currently not running it is getting a complete rebuild with BS eliminator....only part missing is the radiator and fan ass. but i have seen a lot of threads on the aluminum rad and SPAL fans...so that is going in there too...but i will need a seperate trans fluid cooler....and i havent even looked for one yet...got any suggestions?

The 92-94+ 7-bolts are 1G 7 bolts and don't have provisions for a Crank Angle Sensor.

The 95+ 7-bolts are 2G 7-bolts and has a provision for the Crank Angle Sensor, however, the Timing Belt tensioner is a different design

The 96-99 7-bolts are 2G 7-bolts and have provision for the Crank Angle Sensor, they timing belt tensioner was redesigned following the 95 run. If I were to rebuild a 7-bolt, it would be this series.

one more quick question. What year did the compression ratio change in the 7 bolts?

Does anyone know the answer to my last question? I tried searching for it but came up blank. What was the compression ratio for the early 7 bolt?:talon :talon:
