I have 91 talon with an eclipse turbo engine. when I stop at a stop light or something my rpms are at about 600 I am not exactly sure what it is. I have never owned a turbo engine before could it be a problem with a turbo?

That is not that low. Your car should be at 700. If you dont like it that low all you have to do it turn the idle up.

I tried that and I got the bouncing RPMs my buddy was telling me something about a piggy back? I don't even know what the hell that is. I don't think he does either.

do some research on the site for ?'s you have 99% of the time you will find the answer. what mods do you have?

I have none bought the car two days ago and had a kid about a week ago so it would be about six months before I can really do anything to it. I am waiting for when I go to Korea I will be making more money and I am going to completely rebuild the engine.

If the idle starting bouncing around when you tried to turn it up, you probably turned it up too much. Turn it up like 1/4 to 1/2 a round and it should be decent. Your idle controller is probably burned out like most are. If so, you should just unplug it. You'll see the plugin for it facing out the side right at the bottom of the throttle body.

It could also be running rich or have the base timing set too low, both causing it to idle slow. Do you know anyone that has a logger (to check the sensors) or can check the timing for you? Check your air filter to make sure it doesn't have a mouse nest or something in it.

Is your car a manual or automatic transmission? The automatic transmissions have what is called a pulse generator, which tells the computer what gear the transmission is in so the engine could adjust the idle to match. If that is unplugged the car will idle around 500-600 RPM and hold around there regardless of what gear the car is in. It's rather unlikely this is your problem, but if nothing else works it's worth checking out.
