my idling is no good, and its wasting tons of gas. what should i do?

i got a 1992' Talon turbo FWD,

my upgrades are

big 20gturbo
walbro 255
550cc injectors
and the FPR is being installed this week!


my idling is no good, and its wasting tons of gas., lots of performance shops told me i need a Apex'i SAFC
to control those injectors, and my question is here today, do i need the AFC? and if i drop stock injectors back in, do i still need that AFC?, and if i do need it at the end of the day, do i really gotta tune that buullshit for 5to7 bills not including installation?


i mean my last talon was a 1g AWD a 14b turbo, no aftermarket FPR, no AFC, i was runnin 16pds of boost, and if i still had it i would shit on my 20g turbo, im wasting tons of fking money bcuz of these fkin performance shops???? can any1 halp me ### and thnkss..
 
If you have larger injectors with no tuning capability, it's obvious that you are going to dump alot of fuel. I'm surprised that it even starts.

You can:

1. Go with an AFC which will correct for the 550cc but not much more.
2. Go with DSMLink which will correct for any size injector you ever need (in case you want to upgrade down the line).
3. Put the stock injectors back in, but that will limit you to about ~12psi on that 20g.

Btw... where did you even get the idea of running 550's with a stock ECU?

oh yea the car starts no problem, and drives but i get a fuel cut i cannot go higher than2 psi?, i mean i dont even know why i got those injectors, i guess i just found them for cheap. and also about this dsmlink never really heard how it works, is it a plug n play or i gotta tune this also? what am i looking around in total price of this dsmlink? and is it the eprom that i need.? on a 1g tsi fwd
 
Dsmlink is a chip that goes inside your computer aslong as you have an eprom ecu. It lets you tune your car and it actually reprograms the ecu not fooling it like the afc does. And yes youll still have to get it tuned with dsmlink but from what i understand about it, it is pretty easy to tune with. But when they burn the chip they will set it up for 550 injectors tehn you just tune from there. Which dsmlink comes with a built in logger to beable to have some kind of tuning ability but the best thing to help you tune with would be a wideband, but the logger with the dsmlink will do you good at first. And dsmlink normally runs around $550 for just the dsmlink then you will need the eprom ecu or if you have one in your car you will have to get it socketed. As for you saying your hitting fuel cut have you done a boost leak test on your car to make sure you dont have a leak. I would take out the 550 injectors and put back in the stock and turn your boost done. I believe you will be amazed at how the 20g will feel at stock boost.

what if i run 510cc on stock ECU,VR4 240 MAF, evo 2 16g , AFPR, 255, will it run rich without SAFC or DSMlink

Nope ive had it for about 4 years and just got it painted like this about 2 months ago.

Unless the ecu you have is set for 510 injectors you will need something to take some of the fuel away or at idle you will still be running rich and not getting the full potential of the car.
