I am going to order a knock sensor tomorrow to hopefully eliminate some unwanted phantom knock. I dont know which to buy from though, Mitsubishi or JNZ. JNZ has one for 78.99, but i dont know how much Mitsu has it for, I have to call them tomorrow. Any advice?

Extremepsi has the oem for 84bucks. Plus a handling charge of 7.50. Then shipping is free. OEM is always the way to go. However, i've never seen the jnztuning one before. Also, DO NOT buy is from satan. Its over 120 dollars.

Knock sensors are rarely made by the vehicle manufacturer..example Volkswagen, Porsche and Mercedes all use Bosch knock sensors. I'm not sure who mitsu contracted for the KS on our cars but i would imagine that the JNZ one is from the same line-up that mitsu chose from.

Go with who ever is cheaper

Also, unless your sensor is leaking, PK usually comes from a source outside the engine's internals that makes noise. A new sensor will not be "less sensitive" but will just help pick up any noise better that's already there.

I just found the AC compressor was my PK issue and I've seen tons of others from bad ball joints to slapping pistons, "noisy cams" and a whole slew of other places. So unless your sensor is leaking or is just beat up and old you may get more PK by switching to a new one.
