I was thinking about having the local shop run a pipe from my atmospheric o2 dump and route it to the back as a dual exhaust or a dual tip on one side. Would it add back pressure? would it change the sound of the o2 dump?

I think that would add some backpressure and defeats the purpose of external dump. However, if the piping was larger diameter, it may reduce or eliminate the backpressure. It's an original idea however, and wouldn't be detrimental to performance.

Why not?...

Retarded idea, But I suppose it may match that wing. Why on earth would you add all of that weight the length of your car.. Where do these kids come up with these ideas.. ROFL

yea man dont do it hes right with all the weight of the piping make the car fast and keep it with just the o2 open dump and you need to do something with that wing. stock looks so much better :thumb:

Come on guys, give him a break. It's his car, let him do what he wants with it. If he likes the wing that's all that matters.

Maybe he doesnt like the idea of it dumping out below his car. Maybe he doesnt want to cut a hole in his bumper. It wont defeat the purpose, and its going to sound the same as long as there isnt any muffler or any other contraption. Old euro sports cars used to do this, have the actual exhaust and a little pea shooter next to it.

well seaming how everyone hates my spoiler, i bought the car badly wrecked and got the hood and hatch and spoiler to match for a 100 bucks, the old hood was broken and had a bad cracked back window. If anyone knows where i can get one with out my horridly offending spoiler let me know im all ears. I wanted to do the as part of some of my attempts to lower the temps of my engine bay. I am not nerribly consierned about the added weight when i think of engine temps and reliabiltiy in contrast. I dont see how the o2 dump will lose any effictiveness. Im not runnning it back into a stock small pipe along with exhaust gases and im not running it through a converter or muffler. Straight pipe run along my other pipe ###### stopping just short enough not to see it. Talonalex and VTEC THIS its rare to see people support originalism and self expression, the encouriging word of a fellow person with a common passion is the difference from ideas and realities. Its good to see people standing out to be differnet, even if different is just not being judgmental agaisnt us "kids"

If you're looking to lower engine bay temps then just shoot it out the side of the bumper or add a little pipe so it comes out after the bay, if you bend the end of it towards the ground you'll hear less noise. If you want to make some nice piping and get a matching muffler and do the body work to add another scoop in your bumper it might not look bad but it will be way more money than I think it's worth and on cold days people will laugh at your "fake" dual exhaust when you're at a stop light and only one side has anything coming out. Your last post makes it sound like you don't like the wing either, if not then unbolt it and take it off, if you're ambitious then fill the holes and paint the hatch, if you're not the holes are less noticeable than the spoiler, honestly our cars look good without wings. As far as self expression, "originalism" and being judgmental, its a car not a Rembrandt, its been done before and it will be done again. On the other hand if you like the wing then don't put up with shit for it, and don't get upset after all this is the intarweb, the opinions of people here are only mildly more important than what you ate for breakfast.

as for the o2 dump, i dont know if you want to run it that far let alone the mounting that would have to be done. As some have stated, route it to come out by the bumper. I'll be getting an o2 dump and will be extending it so it just dumps under the firewall area, to keep the heat out of the bay.

For christs sake. Ill say it again, maybe he doesnt want it dumping in or under his bay. Maybe he doesnt want to hack a hole in his bumper. The mounting isnt hard, the o2 pipe is 1.5 inches. Its not heavy nor big. Any idiot with some hand tools can hang that to the back. Fake? Hm. Ok, it has a purpose and function. Its not there to look pretty. Hes not sticking a huge chrome tip or can on it (I hope).

No one has argued with you in this thread...you're just picking a fight. If you are referring to my comment about people laughing about his fake exhaust then please read more carefully. What I am referring to is the fact that the second pipe will look like a fake exhaust even if it is not when he is at a stoplight and the weather is cold enough that tail pipes steam, the second pipe will look like a faker dual exhaust but not be putting anything out and anyone who (wrongly) sees it as an exhaust pipe will make fun the aforementioned second exhaust that isn't steaming.

If your worried about "all the heat" think of it like this,

It only dumps when your boosting and under load.
So you have a red hot manifold/turbine housing, 02 housing that aren't seeing any fresh air except the hot air off the radiator.
Now the dumped gas is most likely 700*F+ and its shooting less than 8 inches from the pavement into rushing air.
Now whats all this hype about heat in the engine bay from 02 dump again?
