ok i was just wondering how i can test the fuel pump on my 2g? i did a search on here and only came up with test for a 1g. i do know that the fuel pressure regulator only goes up to 15 psi. and thats it. i would like to test the fuel pump with a volt meter but dont know how to. also i did a rewire on the f.p., and still the same 15 psi of fuel. there is a possiability the fuel pump is no good i just want to really make sure. any help would be good. thank you

What kind of FPR do you have? how do you know its only putting out 15psi of fuel? Base fuel pressure on a 2g is 43.5 psi. If your using an aftermarket gauge maybe it is reading incorrectly. Do you have a logger? If so whats it telling you? If worst comes to worst and it is your fuel pump, Evo fuel pumps are a drop in upgrade for 2g's and can be had for around $20 - $30 shipped from members of the Evo forums.

To answer your question you can test the voltage the FP is getting by taking your volt meter, making sure its on Volts DC and grounding the negative lead to the chassis of the car and the positive lead to the positive wire connecting to the fuel pump harness. If your not sure which wire is positive only one will give you a reading so you will be able to identify it fairly easily.

Also check out this thread, it has more valuable information.

We need more details. What fuel pressure regulator do you have? Where are you measuring fuel pressure? When does it read 15psi, when the car's running, or when you're cranking it over, ect?

If you want to measure the voltage at the fuel pump, you should already know which wire is the power wire since you did the rewire. Measure from there to the chassis when the car is started or cranking, etc, and you should be able to measure it.

Oops, gregalmighty beat me to most of it.
