Shifter cables

From what i have been able to see the shifter cables are exposed. They are not broken the car still goes into gear but if i pull to much then it will just rev the engine. I still have the factory shifter so i was going to put that back on since it has the factory shift point untill i get paid again.

I'm assuming you could just disconnect one end, slide the tubing over it, and then reconnect it.

Otherwise, if you're replacing the cables too, I'd feed them all the way through from the interior, connect them there, then reach through from the top of the engine bay to pull them up and over the tranny, and hook them up to the arms. You might want to remove the intake tubing to make things easier.

I'd say 15 minutes to completely replace the cables. Easy task.

Thats it.. wow that doesn't seem too bad at all. well I'm going to go check and see if i can just reconnect it. But I think that I may have to replace them completely. Just wondering if i replace the short shifter that i have which may have caused the problem. It is one of the b&m copies could that be what caused it to break in the first place or it just old. The car is 11 years old with 177xxx miles on it

Ok so i have ordered the new cables. I had to get them from kentucy because there are none anywhere else in the us according to the mitsu dealer in houston. So if any one body is thinking about getting some they are on back order and there is no eta of when more will be here. But the good news is that i got the last ones.. But i can't find a write up on how to remove the old ones and how to put new ones in. Its doesn't seem to be in the chiltons manual either. so if anyone could direct me to that spot that would be great.
