My E-brake cable snapped the other day. I was wondering if anybody could tell me an easy way to find out where it snapped and and what are the steps to fix it(installation step by step would be nice) and how much of a pain it will be to do?

It is not hard to do. I have not done it on a 1g, but it will be almost the same as 2g, I imagine. I had to swap out my e-brake cables when I did AWD swap. Unfortunately I cannot take any pictures for you at the moment. Anyway, remove the center console, and you should see a single cable running from the e-brake handle. The single cable should not be very long, and will come to a 'splitter' where each of the individual cables go to the left and right rear wheels. Here you will be able to pull on each side, and see which one is broken. As far as replacing, it should be bolted to a few points underneath the car, and a couple inside. You will probably just need to remove the rear seat-bottom, and pull the carpet back a bit to push the cable out of the car. Then you will need to detach it from the wheel assembly, which I have not done before. I don't imagine it would be very hard. Hopefully this will get you going in the right direction. Good luck.

Just ripped apart the center console. Turns out that i didnt snap a cable theres just this one bolt that had to be tightened which tightens up the entire handbrake system it simply came so loose to the point that even when the lever was pulled as high as it can go there was just to much slack left over still. Im happy it was that simple :thumb:
