Ok my cousin just called me and told me that her alarm keeps going off. Her boyfriend was playing with the transmission then shortly after the alarm wouldn't turn off. Battery is now dead. Any idea's are very helpful

What kind of car? Stock alarm?

On 2gs atleast, there is a pressure/tamper switch under the hood right by the driver's side headlight. Over time the bracket holding it to the frame can bend and warp. This makes it so that when the hood is closed, the hood does no fully depress the switch... leading to random sounding of the alarm.

Apparently its common with 2gs (I had no idea until it happened to my own car), so if this is even a DSM we're talking about I'd say its a good place to start.
