Ok well I've searched and read many threads and write ups. But really couldn't find a clear answer. I'm going to be picking up a 95 gsx 5spd that needs the tranny rebuilt. I emailed shep and they quoted me 2-3 weeks for it to be pulled, rebuilt, and installed. Well after reading the right ups I'm pretty confident I can rebuild it myself, but I just have a couple questions. When I pull it apart what exactly should I replace (besides the broken/worn out parts)? Who sells internal tranny parts? And what kind of parts should I be looking at if I'm going to be shooting for the 300-350hp range? Thanks for the help guys when I do the rebuild I will be sure to take as many pics as possible.

Pick up a good used tranny from a junk yard and put a new clutch and TOB in it.. Bet it would cost less than rebuilding the current one in thier and save you a load of time..

TRE sells some parts like gears and syncros, but there are smaller things like springs, shims, and other small things that wear out over time. Just take a look at everything that is replaced. It's a lot more than one syncro. And most of the time when you open them up you will find something else that it worn.

Well Im not too worried about the time its going to take or the amount of labor, im just trying to decide if buying another used tranny would be the best bet in the long run rather than rebuilding the tranny thats on the car. What kind of clutch do you guys suggest?

Act 2600 with a street disk worked well for me. It is pretty proven an half if not more use ACT. But it is all up to you and what goals you have for the cars torque. 6 puck sprung also will hold a bunch of power but may not be as smooth as a street disk. Everyone feels different.
