So my car died the other day while I was driving it normally. I noticed something was up when it wouldn't boost and then all of the sudden it just died and I couldn't get it started again. I got it home and found that it had no spark. After doing some searching here I tried a new CAS, it got spark but the car still won't start or run. Plugs and plug wires are good any ideas?

The car hadn't been running right ever since my cousin and my dad adjusted the timing to lean it out without telling me while they were doing some body work. Felt like the car had no guts and then this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

if you have spark now just make sure there is spark at the end of the wires to the plugs, if they leaned it out your spark plugs might be burnt from detonation or your timing is to far out, try dissconecting your batt and re-trying

Yes, I'm getting fuel pressure. I have tomorrow off so I'm going back under the hood to check on what you guys have suggested. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help.

Redneck tuning?
The only thing manually adjusting timing at the CAS will do is change the entire spark/fuel mapping.
Put it back exactly where it was and beat on them for touching things under the hood.
DSM's have enough problems as it is without redneck V8 guys advancing your fancy distributor cap.

Get a spark tester and check for spark! Sometimes you do get spark but not half an inch of spark. I would check the spark plugs, the power transistor, the coils, and definently adjust the timming.

I had time this weekend so I pulled the plugs and wires. Plugs were shot thanks to running too lean. Haven't had a chance to test the coil pack yet. But yes, they are redneck V-8 guys. LOL One drives a Chevelle and the other a Charger.

I'm hopefully getting a coil pack to swap in and see if that gets things moving. I got all the bolts out of the mounting bracket for the coil pack, but I'm having trouble getting the coil pack itself out, any suggestions?

Yeah, I'll try and work on it some more tomorrow night and let you know how it goes.

Ok, so finally got the coil pack out, found out why it was such a pain. The book I had said that there were only three bolts holding the coil pack, nothing about the fourth one under the intake manifold. The coil pack was cracked in a couple places and it looked like some of the plastic pieces had broken off. I have a new one on order along with new plug wires and plugs. I also took out the ECU to make sure it hadn't been fried. (I used to assemble circuit boards for a friend's electronic company) But the ECU was just fine. The parts are gonna be here next week so I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm hopefully gonna being doing that sometime next week. The only problem is I work seven days a week so I really don't have much time to work on it.
