1. read FAQs, no answer, don't bash me; same for search.
2. we have 95 n/t eclipse. we decided to go for 97 bumper, i know it'll fit. i know 97 projectors will also fit, as they are narrower than 95 headlights.
my questions is - i have just popped open packages with 97 projectors that came in today. am i halucinating? they have 2 plugs for light bulbs, 2 wires, black and red, hanging down loose, and normal opening for the turn light on the fender side.
is it exact match with factory 95 wiring or they have extra plug and it needs to be accomodated somehow? and if yes, then how? made by Sonar, have no doubt folks around here know them well. they came with no instructions. regular looking light towards the midline with plug, semispherical projector lense in the middle next to it, with a plug, and opening on the side for turn light. car's not home now, it's my son's, he's very excited, and i just don't recall OEM headlights having 2 plugs!
tell me i'm halucinating and they'll fit just fine? and what are those 2 wires hanging down?
thank you

I have this same problem. They told me it was total plug and play...:notgood: The stock wire has one plug with 3 wires feeding each side of the headlights. One wire for the light and one for the high beams, the ground is shared.

You have to remove the wiring from inside your factory headlights to use to plug into your high and low beams. So you need to remove the wiring from your stock lights, the plugs that connect to the bulbs and the wiring that plugs into the car itself

1. excellent! thank you, wish i would have known how to rate the reply, but i think, mods are superb anyway. thanks to everyone else for replies!
2. ok, so i have read all the responses and posted link. here's the situation: - i did overreact and OEM headlights do have 2 plugs for 2 seperate bulbs, so i might get lucky and plug and play them.
3. i still have questions, as one thing is terminolgy and one i simply did not understand. sorry, body's 53 yo, so i am not as bright as i used to be.

here's the last 2 questions:
what is HALOs? forum mentioned that hanging wires, black and red, are for halos(?) and only additional lights that i am aware of on our car are the fog lights down in the bumper. we'll have them dicontinued as they won't fit into the 97 bumper anyway. ok, i see now what halo is. it's extra ring around the projector, correct? so, how do i hook it up?

i had mixed responses on projector plugs. some say it's plug and play, some say harness needs toi be redone, as pins in the plugs do not match. no one said what exactly to do to make them match. i'd kindly appreciate step by step guidance on OEM harness required modification necessary, as we do have ebay projectors (like those here eBay Motors: 97 98 99 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS (item 380041597092 end time Jul-03-08 10:18:54 PDT)). i can cut/splice/solder, but will hate to mess up his car to the point of no drivability without headlights, if i'll toast something by splicing wrong wires together. so far, i came across statements like "you may need to redo some wiring" or "you'll need to use common sense to make wiring work" but this is far from practical advice.
most kindly appreciate

Yes teh halo is a ring around the headlights. Most people wire it up to the parking lights so it lights up whne you just have your parking lights on to give it the BMW look that they come factory with. You can either hook it to the lights in your headligths but besure to get the parking light wires and not the turn signal wires. Or easier you could just run them to your side bumper lights

sounds easy enough, i'll just unhook the battery just in case. i am scared some of eclipses electrically, we already had ECM toasted on our 94, by pro sub installers, cost us a lot of dinero to replace.

well, if anyone will have any news on plugs for headlights, if they fit or needs to be rewired and how to - please, share. thank you.

what is HALOs?
It's those pantywaist little glow rings that BMW thought was so cool in the eighties, and which every last little drip-wand wannabe wants to install in their headlights so everyone can see they don't have a BMW.
Think of them as mirror signals for the headlights. See: Poseur.

I can hardly wait for the copycat Audi-brow LEDs. :toobad:
