Well basiclly, i took the engine out without labeling everything.. and now im paying for it.. Anyone have a diagram of where all the sensors go and how to trace em all down?

Maybe a vacum diagram?

Such an idiot move....

First off let this be a lesson learned for you when it comes to removing an engine LOL jk But its ok, you can work through this, its actually pretty simple as long as you break it down into the different systems and sensors.

First your vacuum lines and hoses - i would search on here for a diagram from Taboo Speed. It will show you how to delete your emissions and to me this made my install a heck of a lot easier for me by far. This diagram shows you the before and after the deleting of the egr valve. (deleting it is just a suggestion it wont hurt anything and it will clean your engine bay up a little bit also) It helped me out a lot and this diagram is pretty detailed if you ask me and one of the best laid out diagram ive seen yet.

And second, about your wiring and sensor issue again you can work through this. The chiltons book does have wiring diagrams just look carefully for this (like the hook ups for the AC compressor and the thermostat housing sensors and all that. Remember READ READ READ...i cant stress that enough....do what i did, i just sat down and just read and learned it and somewhat understood it LOL To me the only hard part is when you get up around the intake manifold where you have the wires going to the injectors and the sensors around the throttle body and all that. Just study the wiring digrams in the Chiltons book and you will be fine. Hope this helped you out a little bit.....it was more of a confidence booster then really helpful info LOL Good luck buddy!

Oh and one more thing and trust me on this.....You might wanna replace all your important hoses also, like the ones that go from the back of the thermostat housing to the firewall (the hearter core i assume) and both upper and lower radiator hoses and any other hoses that are either cracked or feel hard or anything. I assume that your car is a 1990 and im sure most of the hoses are to the poin to where they need to be replaced anyways. Do it now and do it right...the first time :thumb:
P.S. - also look into doing a boost leak test also when you get it all buttoned up also!

thanks for the quick reply!

Ill take your advice.. Hopefully its not THAT complicated... i plan on replacing ALL vaccum and rubber hoses with fresh.. so.. thats not an issue any longer.. Thanks for the help any added info would be appreciated

Hey not a problem, im kinda speaking from experience. I rebuilt my motor for the first time atleast on an import and i labeled some things and didnt label other things so i was kinda having the same problem as you, so as i went through the installation i just simplified everything but anyways again good luck to you !

yeah to be honest, this is my first non v8 toy... and i didnt expect there to be so damn many plugs and vac lines until i pulled half of em off LOL.. 3 wires and a brake booster vac on a SBC and youre good to go haha
