What is the best BOV and Wastegate combo for a 20g Hybrid? just bought a Buschur Stage 3 Engine and was wondering.

i'm goin to try and get into the low 8's high 7's for now (1/8th mile).. i have A shepard trans & t-case with LSD front and rear & chrome molly axleshafts front and rear. and A Buschur stage 3 Engine.full 12pt cage no interior cept for a kirby racing bucket. i found the 92 AWD in the scrap yard with no windows and the roll cage already in it. and it had no driveline at all. so all in all i have the perfect drag car.. And i have now noticed dayam it cost some money to build these things to be fast... sorry for all the questions guys but i've never tweaked and tuned on 4cyl's before always v8's and now since gas is so high i'm ready to go the 4cyl route. and money is not a problem because i sold my 69 camero recently...so throw your $0.02 in. and i've heard if ya wana go cheap build a honda if ya wana go fast build a dsm.

7's is what i'd run at Heartland park in topeka, ks but then again that was in a Camero with a nasty big block... so i wana keep running them don't get angry or start making fun of me... i didnt want to start another post! so ok what else do i need to say the low 10's high 9's? and yes i have the flame suite and ### lil ducky shoes to go with!

Look at the parts listed in my profile. Add your built engine and transmission. It's still not enough to even run a 10 for most people. So, you got a ways to go. That i all I'm saying.

PS. This is considered bench racing now, which is not allowed on this site.

Get Tial 50mm BOV (good for any turbo you have or may get) And if you're really gonna flow enough air for anything in teh 9second range or faster, you may go with two BOV's

And i'm not sure about the Ebay BOV's, but DO NOT get an ebay Tial knockoff wastegate! I've seen too many of them in the last 2 years that the diaphram either gets a tear in it or warps so bad that it won't go back in the body properly when you take them apart to change springs. And the worst part is you can't get the replacement part or i'd be all over them since they are very simple devices I would trust it if i could get parts to fix it when it breaks.

But anyway, enough rambling, get yourself a 44mm tial and forget about it. I have a medium sized turbo (garret 57 trim t3/4 hybrid) and I only run a 35mm wastegate, but i've read that smaller wastegates are great for larger turbos running high boost.

Mine is a tial and is about 9 years old and has worked flawlessly it's whole life. The one thing that's broke on it was when i tried to pull the banjo bolt out of the side after 10 years of manifold heat slowly welding the threads together, so you may want to put some high temp anti-sieze on the banjo bolts before you ever install the wastegate just for future maintenence

I love my Synapse BOV. I have leak tested it to 30 PSI with zero leaks, it blows off no matter what load (even @ 1 psi), so no compressor surge here, and the poppet valve actually disperses air much quicker than BOV's with larger valves. I can't say enough good things about it. I have been very impressed with it.

Other BOV's I have leak tested that seal perfect are the greddy Type R/S, Tial, thats pretty much it from what I have seen. It seems since I am the only one with a compressor around here everyone that I am associated with ask me to leak test there car so I get the oportunity to leak test all kinds of setups.

BOV's that I have tested that are completely overated and pretty much garbage in my opinion and do not seal if their life depended on them is the HKS SSQ, Turbo XS RFL, Turbo XS Type H, Forge, ebay HKS & XS knock offs.
