Well i searched and found nothing on whats going on when im doing a boost leak test to my car. Ok so after i put the air from my compressor into the boost leak tester in shoots up to 8 psi really quickly(about a second or so) then all of sudden you hear a loud air noise inside the car. So my question is since ive checked my boost gauge and air line for leaks and found none is could my brake booster be leaking??? because i know you it has a vacuum line going to it...just wouldnt think it would leak.

-Trans issue-(engagement problem)
Im sure this has been discussed but how much travel should your slave cylinder push the rod to be adequate enough to put the trans in gear?? Had a mechanic buddy of mine install a fidanza flywheel and a ACT 2600 clutch during my rebuild and now it wont let me engage to any of the gears. slave cylinder is brand new and to me looks like it travels about an inch?? Could the clutch be on backwards or the throwout bearing is not on right>??? help please!! thanks in advance

You might have a vac hose the come off under the IM, Maybe its blowing air on the firewall allowing you to hear it.

ja12ke- i mean it wont let me go into any gears...and if i try starting it in gear with the clutch down it starts moving with the starter.

Spiralout- what i ended up doing to see if it was the brake booster is plugging the vac line that goes to it...sure as shit my boost when up to 22psi before my boost leak tester popped off. So my new question is there any vac lines inside the car or do i need a new brake booster?? Also is it necessary to have a brake booster?

Welcome to the world of not being able to boost b/c of your brake booster!

I just had this issue and when I went to boost I would get a fluttering noise and no power. The brake booster is a nice thing to have b/c it helps you to apply more power to the brakes when you need it, so I do think that it's important enough to keep.

What you can do to fix it is put a check valve inline with the hose leading from the intake manifold to the brake booster and see if that doesn't fix the issue. I had to kind of hack mine due to time issues, but I haven't had that problem since I put the check valve there.

Check the bolt on the rear of the trans and make sure it is still there. That has happened to me once or twice when i let someone else replace my clutch. The bolt is right above the transfer case on the all wheel so assume i would still be in the same spot on the fwd.
