Power steering issue

I'm trying to fix the leak on my pump, but I can't get to the o-rings because i cant get the top nut off of the shaft that goes into the pump. Everytime I try and take it off, it twists the whole shaft off. I'm trying to follow this thread to do it, but as you can see in the thread, I need to get that top nut off. Take the whole shaft off and double nut it. Use a second nut on the back side and a second wrench (or a vice), should come off easy then.
