ok today i was trying to fix the whip ### its not starting. i had my friend start the car and i had my hand on the mas air flow sensor and i put my hand on it and it ran proflectly. i like blocked off the air and it ran better haha any ides????? boost leak maybe

ok well i crank it and it starts up goes to 15000 rpms and then dies. it cant rev up ether. but i get some to hold there hand on the mas to cover the inlet it will run fine and rev up. could i be runing lean.

Damn you're running 15,000 rpms? You're the man! You meant 1500 rpms! Yes you could be running extremely lean, did someone pull the honeycombs out of the mas? If that's the case then you won't want to start it until you get the honeycombs back installed! You could be running extremely lean and risking the chance at damaging your engine.

yes some did pull them out but i dont have them

Go find a new MAS and get the honeycombs. When my honeycombs were pulled my car was idling at 18.1-19.8 on my wideband, which is EXTREMELY lean. I put all the honeycombs back in and my idle dropped to 12.1 at idle, I removed the bottom honeycomb and now I sit at 14.6-14.7 idle. Definately find some honeycombs and don't start your car until you do! Hope that answers your problem

yea i just went to my friends n got his mas off a 97 gst and still noting ok so i also took his wires coil n that other sensor power sensor thing still noting. if i pump the gas it will stay on. its weird im thinking fuel pressure i did also change the fuel filter. any ides and how do i check fuel pressure since theres not valve thing???

so any one knows how to check fuel pressure

Get a fuel pressure gauge and remove the top outlet line on the feul filter, hook the gauge up to the fuel filter. Turn the power to the car on and read the pressur reading and compare to stock specs.

Don't forget to relieve pressure first!!!!!!!!!

ok soo this sounds weird but i only hear the fuel pump runing when i crank it and the car is runing but when the engine shuts off the pump shuts off.

soo im ordered a new fuel pump and when it comes im gona put it in i think its the fuel pump tho. when i took the fuel line of the rail not gas like shot out at me it leaked and just drained out haha think low pressure. hopefully this works ohh and i was at advance auto and told the guy there my problem and he said its runing lean ### i like put my hand over the intake to stop air and its like choking it and it run when i do that.

well changed the fuel pump still notting same deal. any one have any ides

did you get the vac lines to the fuel regulator and solenoid part of the fuel rail plugged in right?

yea everything is plugged in and i already used my friends mas and same thing

air you running a air filter? Mine did the samething wanted to start it before buying the k&n if I would hold my hand and block the amount of air it would run fine.

no im not runing the filter i got a cone filter for it tho. but that can mess it up not runing a filter what haha ill try that then now thanx i hope it works its been 3 months now i was working on it thanks if any one has any thoughts on it please tell me need help

nope everything is good and tight and i tried with the filter on and noting still ohh and it back fires in the intake
