My 95 Talon Tsi is not cranking after an engine rebuild. I was told to check and make sure I had 12 V going through the signal wire to the starter. Well I checked it out and found it had been cut and the only thing I have is half of the black wire with yellow stripe going to the small spade connection on the starter and I don't know where the other end should connect to. Anybody know what Im talking about?WTF

I'm a little shady on what it is exactly that you're saying...but as far as electrical goes...black=ground.

Now Mitsu is pretty stupid with their colors sometimes....I know when I was rewiring all the retardation some ricer did in my car, I found out that obscure green wires with yellow lines can mean power.

I'm one of those people who don't know how to work on things until they break...and fortunatly for me my starter hasn't given me a reason to rip it out and chunk it into the ever growing pile of useless parts in my garage. But I would say that your mystery wire is ground.

Search the forums a little for a starter install topic...I'm sure you'll find something.

Dude its very simple, only two wires go to your starter, The one with the red cap(which is constant POS) goes to the little stud and you secure it with the 10mm nut (usually comes with the starter) and the other one goes to the spade connector it is black and no ITS NOT GROUND ITS THE SIGNAL for your starter. So simple if you got more Qs PM me.
