Well I just got my 97 GST up and running this morning. Now I didnt even break it in and KNOCK KNOCK !!

Wow this bites...

Any suggestions on the best route for me? I would hate to hav a shop rebuild this 7 bolt. rather buy a 6 but I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin and hav no clue of anyone who works on DSMs. I need a good mechanic anyone?

UPDATE!

Well the car starts with a jump!
Runs for a few second and is knocking bad in the motor!! Few videos on youtube show the same knock I have!
Also when I press the brakes the lights on dash dim.
Its crazy almost seems as if my ECU is fried but I seriously think I need a new motor as well. Its knocking very loud! :( I only have myself and a few friends to swap in a new swap I might purchase from online not sure yet.

Any suggestions>?

Is this a fresh rebuild? If so I would think if it is rods that your bearings might be the wrong size, not torqued to spec, and/or maybe a bent rod slapping the block. It could even be slight piston slap.

NO REBUILT THE TRANNY AND PUT IT IN 2 DAYS AGO.

nOW i HEAR LOUT KNOCK ITS BAD!! i HAVE NO CLUE WHO CAN SWAP A 6 BOLT. oR SHOULD i GET ANOTHER 7BOLT?

You should stick with the 7 bolt. If all you did was swap the transmission and it was not knocking before that you might check your flywheel/torque converter bolts. Make sure things are tight and not moving due to a lot of play.

Haha, other people had this problem...

I bought a 1991 GSX auto cheap as hell because the guy told me the engine was knocking/toast. I got it home, started taking things apart and the tranny was loose as hell. I removed it, replaced the flex plate and bolts (bent the plate), reinstalled and tightened everything, drove it off.

Sorry just had to comment, the thread title is clever and hilarious :p

Boy that does sound like rod knocking. My 2 bolts on my TQ where backing off and every other rotation "knock" scared the piss out of me, then my oil pump goes :notgood:
