AVC-R Max Boost?

I just purchased a new AVC-R (the black one, though it is functionally the same as the blue one) and have yet to install it. I read the online manual that's posted on Apexi's website and it seems to me that the maximum boost that can be set on the AVC-R is 2kg/cm2, which is around 28 psi.

Does this seem right?

I would like to be able to run around 30-32psi. Since I haven't installed it yet, I have no way to confirm if this will work for my boost.

Perhaps someone willing to try to set their AVC-R to beyond 2 kg/cm2 to confirm or deny this?

Or is anyone here running an AVC-R set over 2kg/cm2?

i believe that 28 max boost is correct. i have heard before that anything around that amount or higher it is not controlled or as accurate on EBC's.

Hmm...

That seems a bit low to me for quite an expensive EBC, don't you think?

I've done some more research and figured out that the MAP sensor that comes with the AVC-R is a 4 BAR unit. That can obviously support more than 28psi. So what could be the limiting factor?

Solenoid would be my guess. It's simple compared to some other solenoids but the unit is programmed for that solenoid. You can possibly add in a better one and get a better feedback and boost control but it's still limited to its programming. Also, just cause it's designed for more than 28psi, doesn't mean it's reliable. ApexI probably added in a 4 bar just to be safe and set the boundaries past 2 kg/cm2 to compensate for spike and creep. The graph function has a max setting up to 3 kg/cm2.
